The packages are developed at the\u00a0<a title=\"Institute for Computational Physics\" href=\"http:\/\/www.icp.uni-stuttgart.de\/~icp\/Main_Page\" target=\"_blank\">ICP<\/a>\u00a0at Stuttgart University, Germany and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mpip-mainz.mpg.de\">Max-Planck-Institute for Polymer Research<\/a>\u00a0in Mainz, Germany.\u00a0All three applications are tools that make it significantly easier for PhD students and researchers in general toget started with their projects.<\/p>\n<p>Between October 7-11, ICP, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.simtech.uni-stuttgart.de\/\">SimTech Cluster of Excellence<\/a>\u00a0at Stuttgart \u00a0University and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cecam.org\/workshop-780.html\">CECAM<\/a>\u00a0(Centre Europ\u00e9en de Calcul Atomique et Mol\u00e9culaire) organize the SimTech-CECAM-ESPResSo Summer School 2013. The school provides a detailed and hands-on introduction to the software packages and their uses.<\/p>\n<p>The school consists of\u00a0<strong>Lectures<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Hands-on Sessions<\/strong>, both for beginners as well as for experienced users and developers of ESPResSo, ESPResSo++ and VOTCA. The introductory sessions aim to introduce the general ideas and usage of <span class=\"espresso\">ESPResSo<\/span> and its most common features for the simulation of a broad variety of soft matter systems. However, we have reserved a number of rooms (singles and doubles) in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.studentenwerk-stuttgart.de\/en\/international-student-hotel\">International Student Hostel<\/a>\u00a0(from 25.50\u20ac for students). Use the keyword &#8220;Espresso&#8221; to get one of the rooms from our contingency.[important]Please book your rooms as soon as possible, as the reservation are only valid for a limited time![\/important]<\/li>\n<li>If the rooms in the International Student Hostel are all occupied, consider the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.accorhotels.com\/gb\/hotel-5441-etap-hotel-stuttgart-city-zukunftig-ibis-budget\/index.shtml\">ETAP hotel in Stuttgart<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Stuttgart can be reached by plane (airport code STR) or by train (&#8220;Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof&#8221;). Both from the train station and the airport the ICP as well as the ETAP hotel can be reached easily by public transport. Details will follow on this page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Poster Session and Lightning Talks<\/h2>\n<p>We want to give the participants ample opportunity to present their own work and ideas.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On Monday evening (17:00-18:00), we will have\u00a0<strong>Lightning Talk Session<\/strong>\u00a0of one hour, where people can present a <em>very short<\/em> talk. Lightning talks are intended to present finished and unfinished ideas of projects to be discussed with interested people afterwards, or to tease people to your poster. Depending on how many people want to give a lightning talk, the time per talk will be adapted (probably something between 5 and 20 minutes). If you want to give a lightning talk, please send an email with the title to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ess@icp.uni-stuttgart.de\">ess@icp.uni-stuttgart.de<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>We will hold a\u00a0<strong>Poster Session<\/strong>\u00a0(and a BBQ) on Tuesday evening where most people from our institute will put up their posters. If you have a poster that you would like to present, just bring it along! Note that the posters can most probably stay mounted on the poster walls during the whole school.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333; font-size: 18px; font-weight: bold; line-height: normal;\">Further Details<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you have a\u00a0<strong>Laptop<\/strong>, please bring it along! We will have some desktop computers where you can do the hands-on sessions, but we recommend to bring your own machine. It should provide some kind of POSIX OS (i.e. basically anything but Windows).<\/li>\n<li>On Wednesday evening, we will have a\u00a0<strong>Conference Dinner<\/strong>. Unfortunately, we cannot fund the dinner for the participants, but only for the speakers.
