User’s mailing list

Subscribe | Archive

The list espressomd-users@nongnu.orgis intended for users of ESPResSo . The ESPResSo team will also post messages about major releases and bugfix releases, and occasionally ask the community for feedback when making plans for future releases. Before writing to the list, please read the following:

  • You can not write mailings to the list unless you are subscribed!
  • For basic questions, please do not directly contact single developers, but always use the mailing list. In this way, you will usually get an answer quicker and by the right person.
  • Please do not post overly huge messages. Long scripts and stack traces should be joined as attachments. For large files, please put a link to an URL instead.
  • Replies should go to the mailing list (hit “reply to list/All” in your mailer). In this way, the mailings and their replies get archived and others can benefit from them later on.
  • Please stay polite in your mailings. Be aware that we offer the software free of charge, and none of us is paid for developing the software. Everything is done on a voluntary basis.
  • We would appreciate if you first try to find an answer to your question in the available documentation before you write it to the list.
  • We also have the archive of the mails to the old developers’ mailing list (before 2006).

The list espressomd-devel@nongnu.org is intended for the developers of ESPResSo , i.e. all people that have ever touched the C++-code of ESPResSo or want to do so.

  • You can not write mailings to the list unless you are subscribed!
  • When you first subscribe to the list, we would be happy if you would write a short email to the list where you state your experience with simulations and programming and what you plan to do with ESPResSo .
  • We also have the archive of the mails to the old developers’ mailing list (before 2006).
  • Internal discussions among the core team of ESPResSo developers are now published on the GitHub wiki. There, you’ll also find the release note drafts of future releases.
